British musician Phil Collins announced that the music stops persistent health problems that prevent him to continue singing and composing, People magazine reported today. The drummer and singer of "Genesis" noted that more than three decades have playing drums produced various medical problems, such as hearing loss, a slipped disc and nerve damage.
"I do not belong to this world and I do not think anyone will miss me. I'm much happier making me completely aside," said Collins, who now lives in Switzerland.
Collins, 60, has 13 number ones in the U.S. and in Britain, seven Grammy awards and an Oscar for original song for the Disney film "Tarzan", 1999. Among its main achievements are "Another Day In Paradise" and "Against All Odds", most of them between the late 70's to mid 90's. During
his career, Phil Collins has sold 100 million albums, both solo and popular member of the progressive rock band Genesis. " His last album was "Going back", published in September 2010, was a tribute to classic soul.
